Jon Krawczynski said Edwards has been focusing on improving himself during the offseason. He wrote: "He has completely faded out of social media during this period and is dedicated to polishing his skills. After losing to the Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, he was very frank and said that he still has a lot of room for improvement in order to reach Alexander or Luca Doncic." Last season, Edwards averaged 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
