Xiao Hua: I can use the existing indirect evidence to punish the Clippers, but investigation is necessary

According to Front Office Sports, NBA President Xiao Hua met with the media after the NBA board meeting and talked about the investigation into the Clippers' suspected evasion of the salary cap.

Xiao Hua said that he had enough rights to punish the Clippers now, including fines, confiscation of draft picks or both. According to the provisions of the Labor and Capital Agreement, wage cap evasion can be proved through direct or indirect evidence, including but not limited to proving that there is an issue that cannot be reasonably explained in the absence of a violation of the wage cap rule. This means that the alliance does not need to obtain conclusive evidence.

Although there was written evidence in previous reports that allowed Xiao Hua to punish based on indirect evidence, Xiao Hua tended to conduct sufficient investigation before making possible punishment decisions.

Xiao Hua said: "I have talked half-jokingly with others before. When people say that the evidence is conclusive, these are obviously indirect evidence.
