British media: Liverpool is no longer leading the battle for Gueye, now all the giants are on the same starting line

TBR Football reported that Liverpool is no longer leading the chase for Gueye.

As previously disclosed, Liverpool will pursue Guei again in January next year. The England international central defender almost joined the Red Army at the deadline of the summer window. However, sources confirmed to TBR Football that although Gueye may still join Liverpool, the Red Army does not have an advantage over other clubs in the battle.

In the Premier League, Guey's old club Chelsea, as well as Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United are all preparing to make contract offers during the New Year and invite him to join.

TBR Football chief reporter Graeme Bailey revealed that although Liverpool is pushing the most aggressively this summer, the Crystal Palace captain will fully explore all available options when his contract expires in 2026.

The reporter said: "Guey's transfer has been 'reset to zero'. This will be a brand new transfer. Past actions, remarks or offers have now been forgotten."

Liverpool also needs to face the issue of its central defender Konate's contract expiring at the end of the season. Now the contract renewal negotiations are still continuing. Liverpool hopes to have Konate and Guey play for the team at the same time next year.
