BBC: Atletico Madrid coaching staff member spits at Anfield stand after being killed, UEFA will investigate

According to the BBC, UEFA will investigate the fact that Atletico Madrid coaching staff members spit in the Anfield audience.

After Liverpool's 3-2 Atletico Madrid game, after Van Dijk scored the winning goal, Atletico coach Simeone was sent off with a red card for a fierce argument with a fan, triggering a chaotic clash near the visiting team's bench.

The subsequent video footage shows a member of Simeone's coaching staff spitting in the direction of the stands during the conflict. UEFA may take disciplinary action after reviewing all relevant reports.

Atletico Madrid Club confirmed to BBC Sports that they will also conduct an internal investigation on the incident, but will not comment publicly.

Liverpool will provide UEFA with all relevant surveillance videos and information to assist in possible investigations.
