Official: Watford signs Senegal midfielder Mendy, and both sides sign a 1+1 contract
Today, Watford announced on the club's official website that it had signed Senegalese midfielder South Paris Mendy, becoming the team's 11th signing this summer. Mendy, 33, joined Watford after leaving Lance, signed a one-year contract with the option to extend it for another year. He also mentioned that Mendy once played for Leicester City and was a replacement for Kante after leaving the team. Mendy has played for Monaco, Nice, Leicester City and Lons. As an experienced defensive midfielder, he has played 98 times for Leicester City in the Premier League and 164 times in the Ligue 1. He has also participated in the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Cup and the Champions League, and won the FA Cup with Leicester City in 2021. Mendy made her career debut in Monaco in 2010 and transferred to Nice in 2013. In the summer of 2016, he joined Leicester City, which had just won the Premier League championship with record transfer fees at the time. In 2022, he won the African Cup with the Senegal national team.
