Official of the Spanish Football Association: Improper protest & contempts the referee group, Biba coach Valverde was suspended for 4 games
The Spanish Football Association Competition Committee officially announced that Bilbao coach Valverde was suspended for four games due to improper behavior in the 2-1 victory over Betis. According to the referee report, Valverde was expelled from the 99th minute of the game for repeated and obvious protests against referee Isidro Diaz Demela's penalty, and showed obvious dissatisfaction when leaving the technical zone. Subsequently, the referee recorded that Valverde expressed his dissatisfaction with the referee team's performance through applause. The Spanish Football Association Competition Committee believes that Valverde's behavior should be subject to two penalties, of which the suspension was caused by improper protests, and the other two were due to contempt for the referee team.
