Mopai: Rabiot s mother once talked to my mother about being abused by fans

Perhaps expecting this scene, Rabiot's mother Veronic had contacted the mother of Marseille player Neil Mopai, who had experienced similar situations in Nice.

Although the hostile relationship between Paris and Marseille is well known, this did not prevent Rabiot from joining Marseille. In the eyes of Paris fans, this choice is tantamount to "betrayal", so Rabiot paid the price in the national derby on March 16. When Marseille was visiting Princes Park Stadium, Rabiot ushered in a hostile "return" - the scene was filled with a lot of insulting banners, not only targeting him, but also his mother Veronic Rabiot was attacked.

Veronic seemed to be mentally prepared for this. In the documentary Never Give Up, Neil Mopai said of Rabiot and his mother's experience in this game: "We discussed it. Our mothers also discussed it together, and they met because it was hard for us to bear. It was never pleasant. After all, our parents, our family, our mothers saw their children and themselves being abused by thousands of spectators, which was a personal attack in front of the entire stadium."

Rabbit's mother contacted Mopai's mother because the latter had experienced similar scenes when her son returned to Nice a few weeks ago. Mopai once described the reception from Nice fans: "At that time, a banner appeared in front of my parents and sister. I personally know that my mother had never expected this situation at all, although I reminded her that there might be some intense scenes. After all, there is inevitably such hostility in the football world. You know, parents always see the good side of things, and they don't notice the aggressive and threatening insults in football. I know that this is a blow to her. But I have experienced this this year. It makes me feel sad for my family and for my mother."
