La Liga president discusses referee issues: It has nothing to do with the Negrera case, and many controversies have been exaggerated

Tebas said: "We must clearly distinguish the so-called Negrera case from the referee disputes in recent years or recent games. The two have nothing to do with each other. The Negrera case involves the situation before 2019, which was paid by Barcelona to a vice chairman of the referee committee, but according to the judicial process we are currently conducting, it will only affect the referee's promotion and relegation, that is, which referees can enforce La Liga and which referees enforce the Spanish Second Division, so we must clearly distinguish this issue. First, we must understand , the Negrera case is not buying a referee, not corruption of the referee, but attempting to affect the referee's promotion and relegation. This is very serious and should be punished, but we must distinguish between behaviors of different natures. The current referee disputes in Spanish football have nothing to do with the Negrera case, and have nothing to do with whether the referee favors a certain club."

Tebas added: "I think sometimes in the media world, there are media wearing Real Madrid scarves or other club scarves. I think a lot of the controversy is actually exaggerated."
