American News: 76ers seek to trade Drummond & Oubre to renew Grimesten more space
According to Jake Fischer, NBA insiders revealed that the Sixers are seeking to trade Oubre or Drummond to renew Grimesten's salary space. "There has been a constant news about the Sixers' possible trade of one of Drummond and Oubre, and even two," said Jake Fischer. "If Philadelphia can trade these two before training camp starts, it will provide the team with more cap space to be able to provide Grimes with a higher salary." Grimes currently faces two options as a restricted free agent. He either accepts contracts offered to him by the Sixers, or plays with a one-year qualification offer next season and becomes a full free agent in the next offseason. In the new season, Drummond's annual salary is $5 million, while Oubre's annual salary is $8.4 million.
