The 45-year-old female linesman Nicolosi has officiated more than 200 professional men's and women's football matches in her career, including the 2019 Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool.

Nicolosi said: "All my referee colleagues and match directors told me: you have to keep a low profile, you are too visible.
