Sell: Barcelona negotiates with the city government to open part of the Camp Nou, first complete the VIP seat and the southern goal area
Sel Radio reported that the Barcelona Club reached an agreement with the city government to modify the Camp Nou event permit. Initially, the city approved a permit to accommodate 62,000 spectators (including the first and second floor stands), but given that the work of this phase has not been completed, the parties agreed to adjust the permit to approximately 27,000 spectators. In the past few weeks, Barcelona and the municipal government have decided to divide the first phase of the project into three parts: first, the completion of the VIP seat and the South goal area (27,000 spectators); second, the addition of the flank area (45,000 spectators); and finally, after the completion of the North goal area, the full capacity of the first and second floor stands will be achieved. This means that Barcelona has not yet obtained permission from the city to open the stadium when the fourth round of the league against Valencia on September 14. To achieve this, the club must complete the works of the VIP seat and the South Goal Area, ensure corresponding access and safety measures, and then apply for a first-time use permit from the city. In addition, the club is required to submit a preliminary safety control report, a procedure involving safety and prevention. Subsequently, the city will send technicians to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the stadium and need to obtain favorable reports from the civil defense and fire departments. The license will not be issued after all these conditions are met. However, this process is neither quick nor simple. However, the club is now more optimistic than before on the eve of the Gambel Cup, when they have begun discussing the possibility of partially opening the court.
