I wanted to transfer and finally chose Bayern because I think I can go further here. I am very ambitious and hope to keep improving. Bayern is a successful big club with a strong team and coach Kompany. He wants me to join, and he himself was a defender. I believe I can achieve more potential at Bayern, which is why I came to Munich.

What we think of "the leader of the line of defense"

Ultimately, each of us must be the leader and take responsibility - whether it is in the national team or at Bayern. I will try my best to participate in communication and organization on the field, which will not only help the team, but also benefit myself. But I don't like the word 'leader' because it emphasizes a certain player too much.

How important is it to win a championship with Bayern and the national team? You can start to win the UEFA Champions League this Sunday, which is extremely important to me. Given the World Cup, the UEFA Champions will be very important. Our generation has experienced a lot of pain in the national team, and winning the championship will be an important feeling for the team. Winning some honors before the World Cup will also bring additional encouragement to the national team, and we need to build that confidence.

For me personally, the championship is of course very important. I have tasted the championship in Leverkusen and I want to win more championships, whether it is in the German national team or in my new club.

Learning from seniors

I benefited a lot from Boateng and Hummels. What I learned is that everyone has their own style of playing. You have to play your strengths as much as possible on the field. Boateng is fast and Hummels feels great in position. I learned a lot from them and found my own style.
